Program Goals

Sioux Empire Child Care Network

 

To be of support to both new and experienced providers by providing resources, networking opportunities (locally and across the state), and examples of common child care business practices.  

To support and encourage the professional growth of each provider by providing high quality classes or tutorials , a knowledge of continuing educational opportunities in our area, mentorship opportunities, CDA support, leadership opportunities, the pathways program, and a knowledge or introduction to professional organizations (AEYC, NAFCC, etc. ).  

To positively model professional growth and development.  

To provide accurate information to those providers seeking City and State registration. To support the need for standards when dealing with the health and safety of children. Providing background or a better understanding for the need of those standards.

To provide a greater understanding of the natural behaviors and development of children.  

To educate and encourage providers to take on children with disabilities.

To encourage and provide models for building partnerships with parents. To provide an understanding of how these partnerships better meet the needs of children.

To provide support, education, and resources in the following areas: provider health, stress management, recording keeping, tax preparation, curriculum options, designs for daycare settings, healthy menu planning, building partnerships with parents, services available to parents, resource file development, etc.   

To provide both support and education to parents on finding quality child care homes and on maintaining professional relationships with providers.

To provide support to state and local offices: ECE, state licensing, Helpline, S.Dak. Alliance for Children, City Government, etc. To promote the importance of advocating for parents and children.
